Construction of the tidegate at the Landings on Skidaway Island will result in the partial destruction and flooding of a fairly large midden bordering the tidal creek. The portion of the midden to be affected is approximately 18 inches thick, 15 feet wide, and 75 feet long.

The Casey Canal. Parkway is to be constructed through a low, swampy area drained by the Casey Canal. The area is densely forested, and in most places, is impenetrable. Only short segments of the-right-of-way have been cleared.
