Survey Sites 1, 2, 4, and 5 in the proposed Ronald Reagan Expressway Corridor were tested. Archaeological testing procedures varied in accordance with two general site types: historic sites with standing structures (Sites 1 and 2); and subsurface prehistoric sites (Sites 4 and 5).

This report details the Phase II archaeological testing conducted at the Landers-Pounds site (9GW258) between December 27 and 31, 1993. The Landers-Pounds House site is a historic archaeological site with a minor prehistoric component and is located in suburban Gwinnett County, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archeological survey of the roposed Sugarloaf Parkway at 1-85 and various interchanges and improvements to 1-85 from October 21 through October 26, 1992.

No existing or eligible National Register archaeological resources were located within the project's area of potential environmental effect.

An intensive archaeological survey of proposed drainage improvements to Rae's Creek between Skinners Mill Road, Wheeler Road and Boy Scout Road in Augusta, Georgia, resulted in the investigation of three historic archaeological resources within the proposed project right-of-way.

The City of Augusta contracted with Zimmerman, Evans and Leopold, Inc. (ZEL) to evaluate its options to achieve compliance with a new NPDES Permit. The permit would require plant modifications for compliance since the present facilities are not capable of meeting the new limits.

A Phase I archeological and historical survey was conducted during mid-April 1994 of the Brandenburg Interstate Centre Project located in Richmond County, near Augusta, Georgia.

The project discussed in this report is the result of the proposed construction of a new electrical power substation along U.S. 1 in Richmond County, Georgia. The project is located on the east side of U.S. 1 north of Blythe and near the Fort Gordon Military Reservation (Figure 1).
