Project STP-054-1(51) would provide left turn lanes on all approaches to the intersection of S.R. 36 and C.R. 653. Existing right-of-way varies from 15.24 meters (50 feet) to 22.86 meters (75 feet) throughout the project area.

Project STP-054-1(46) would provide for a two-way left turn lane on S.R. 36 from mile post 14.01 to mile post 15.14, a distance of approximately 1.81 kilometers (1.13 miles). The existing right-of-way throughout the project area is approximately 15.24 meters (50 feet).

The proposed project would construct passing lanes at three locations on SR 36, between South River and CR 188, in Newton County. Passing lane 1 begins at MP 6.2 and ends at MP 8.0 for a total distance of 1.8 miles.

Project STP-054-1(51) would construct turn lanes at the intersection of SR 36 and CR 653 (Covington Bypass) in Newton County. The project also includes the replacement of a deteriorated and collapsed drainage pipe located approximately 1.93 kilometers (1.2 miles) north of CR 653.

The proposed project would construct two passing lanes, one northbound and one southbound, on State Route 81, Newton County. The proposed construction would be between Mile Post 3.4 and Mile Post 5.2 for a total of 1.8 miles.

Project STP-054-1(62) in Newton County proposes to reconstruct and realign the intersection of Flat Shoals Road/Steele Road/CR 181, Mill Road/CR 506, and SR 36 in High Point, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted Phase I archaeological survey along a 2.56-mile long corridor extending between McDonough and Panhandle Roads in Clayton County, Georgia.

A Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 101.2 km (62.9 mi) South Georgia Natural Gas Company pipeline corridor was conducted by R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. from December 1992 through February 1993.

The following report presents the results of an archaeological survey conducted within a portion of the Tobesofkee Creek drainage in Monroe County, Georgia.

The Consolidated Government of Columbus/Muscogee County, Georgia has contracted with Maguire Associates, Inc. and Brockington and Associates, Inc. to conduct cultural resources investigations in two parcels in Muscogee and Chattahoochee Counties, Georgia.
