On August 21, 1986, archaeological testing was conducted in two locations in Mistletoe State Park, Columbia County, Georgia.

None present.

An intensive cultural resource management survey was conducted by the University of Alabama, Division of Archaeology, between the dates of November 8 and December 3, 1988.

Southeastern Wildlife Services, Inc , Athens, Georgia, was selected to conduct a cultural resources survey on two parcels of land situated the boundaries of Ft. Benning Military Reservation, Muscogee County, Georgia.

In November 1996, Phase II archaeological and historical investigations were conducted at 9ME238 by Brockington and Associates, Inc.

On the basis of information obtained through archaeological survey, it seems unlikely that anything of historic or prehistoric significance would be affected by the completion of this project.

An archaeological survey reconnaissance was conducted on April 17, 1977 in the City of Atlanta at the proposed sites of the Three Rivers Project.

A nineteenth century cemetery was accidentally discovered during construction activities at Fort Benning, Georgia. Preliminary historical and archeological investigations suggest that the individuals buried there may have been members of the Missionary Colored Baptist Church.

Location: The proposed project involves widening of 1-20 from 1-285 east of Atlanta to S.R. 138 at Conyers. Lanes would be increased from four to six. All the widening, bridge improvements, and safety barriers will be within existing right-of-way.
