6355 Espenshade, Christopher T., Roberts, William I. Archaeological Survey Pates Creek Raw Water Supply Reservoir

Archaeological survey of a 302 acre proposed reservoir in Henry County, Georgia, resulted in the identification of six archaeological sites and the revisit of a previously recorded site. Survey methods included background research, a records search, and 40 interval screened shovel testing.

On August 9, 1977, the author and Lawrence Waters performed reconnaissance survey of the proposed extension of Forest Service Road 797. Only the new construction path was field checked.

I was asked to conduct a Cultural Resource Assessment of the River Hills subdivision in Clayton County, Georgia by Mr. Dan Lewis of the Celtic Corporation. During the Course of that assessment, two archaeological sites were recorded. Both these sites consisted of single artifacts.

On September 11, 1997 Dr. Debbie Wallsmith of this office conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of a proposed laundry facility and septic system. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate any archaeological resources which might be impacted by the proposed development.

On August 24, 1992 David Davis of this office conducted a Phase I archaeological survey in campsites #58 - #71 at Mistletoe State Park, Columbia County, Georgia. These campsites are proposed for renovation which involve new disturbances. Each campsite covered an area slightly less than 80 m2.
