Report Abstracts

Project STP-46-1(31) consists of maintenance for drainage problems at two sites in the city of Covington. Site 1 is located at the intersection of SR 12 and Hazelbrand Road. Existing right-of-way at the intersection is approximately 24.4 m (80 ft).

Proposed project STP-046-1(29) would widen and reconstruct SR 12/US 278 beginning at County Road 653 and ending just beyond the intersection of SR 12/US 278 and SR 142.

Additional archeological survey of the proposed realignment and bridge replacement on Rocky Creek Road, using recently obtained plans showing newly required right-of-way, located one archeological site within the proposed area of potential effect.

The proposed project would reconstruct and widen SR 142 from 1-20 to just north of the SR 142/CR 74 intersection in Newton County. The existing typical section consists of two 12 foot travel lanes with 8 foot grassedd shoulders.

In an agreement between the Georgia Power Company and the State of Georgia, Department of Natural Resources Game and Fish Division, a portion of property owned by Georgia Power is to be leased to the Game and Fish Division for construction of a waterfowl pond.

Project SAMA-36(41) involves the leveling, resurfacing, and addition of 0.6 m (2 ft) paved shoulders on to SR 36 in Newton County. The proposed project would begin at the Butts County line and would end approximately 0.05 km (0.03 mi) north of the intersection of SR 36 and Hummingbird Lane.

The proposed project consists of the widening and reconstruction of four pairs of bridges on Interstate-474-1-1-20) in Newton County. The bridge pairs are 1-20 over Alcovy Road, 1-20 over the CSX Railroad, 1-20 over the Alcovy River, and 1-20 over the Alcovy River Overflow.

This project proposes to widen 1-20 from S.R. 138 to a point just east of S.R. 81. All widening will take place within the median.

The proposed project would reconstruct the intersection of 1-20, S.R. 12, C.R. 516, and Turner Lake Road in Covington. The proposed project would begin approximately 1,100 feet east of the intersection of C.R.

The proposed project would provide a borrow pit/wetland mitigation site for the construction of the proposed eastbound ramp improvements of the 1-20 and SR 278 interchange. The proposed borrow pit/wetland mitigation site would be located south of Cook Road/C.R. 512 northwest of Oxford.
