On October 15, 1977, an archaeological survey was conducted by Roy S. Dickens, Jr. and Linda F. Carnes of the north and south banks of the Broad River within the proposed right-of-way for a gas pipeline.

This report describes a survey of five islands in the Savannah River which will be drowned by the construction of the Richard B.. Russell Reservoir. Thirteen sites occupied by prehistoric Indians were found.

6580 Garrow, Patrick H. An Intensive Archaeological Survey of the Proposed Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Relocation R-2 and Associated Borrow Area

The results of the survey indicate that one potentially significant prehistoric site lies in the proposed borrow area to R-2. This site will require further mitigation planning and possible excavation.

New South Associates conducted Phase I archaeological survey on January 26, 1999 of an approximately one mile gas pipeline corridor and 200 by 200 feet work station in Walton County, Georgia. The project area is located north of the town of Madison.
