On January 19, 1977 a survey of the Ocilla wastewater treatment facility was completed in order to assess the impact of the proposed construction upon cultural resources, as required by federal mandates implemented by 36 C.F.R.

This report summarizes the results of a reconnaissance level archeological survey of the Discovery tract, a 720 acre parcel owned by Bessemer Properties, the Atlanta based division of Bessemer Securities Corporation.

Two selected tracts of Forest Service land, C-1705 and 1706, are scheduled for exchange with the Boy Scouts of America, Atlanta Area Council. The tracts are accessible via Route 19, four miles northwest from Blairsville, then left on Route 325 approximately three miles, and then left on F. S.

Kings Bay, an arm of Cumberland Sound on the intracoastal waterway in the extreme southeastern corner of Georgia, was the focus of an archeological survey undertaken by University of Florida researchers over a 16 month period in 1977-78.

The Archeological Survey of Cobb-Fulton Counties (ASCFC) received a work order and notice-to-proceed on the proposed Long Island Force Main construction right-of-way on September 5, 1978, from the Fulton County Department of Public Works.

In March of 1978, the University of Florida was asked by Hampton Plantation Inc. to undertake a preliminary survey and reconnaissance of Butler Point, St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Nineteen sites previously located by West Georgia College in the east portion of the Sallacoa Creek watershed were tested as part of the archeological survey reported here. of these, six are recommended for both nomination to the National Register of Historic Places and mitigation processes.
