The proposed project consists of the emergency replacement of an existing culvert in southeastern Cherokee County, Georgia (Figure 1 ). The culvert was damaged during severe rainfall in September 2009.

Lake Blackshear is located on the Flint River along the county lines of Worth, Crisp, Lee, Sumter, and Dooley Counties, Georgia. This hydroelectric project was built in 1930 and is operated by the Crisp County Power Commission. Lake Blackshear inundates approximately 8,700 acres.
