In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, STP-097-1(27), Tattnall/Candler Counties has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, STP-068-1 (43), Tattnall County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The Chieftains excavation project was carried out during the summers of 1969, 1970, and 1971. The 1969 excavation was carried out over a two week period and underwritten by the Colanese Fibers Corporation of Rome.

On the 4th and 5th day of April 1988, an archaeological survey was conducted by personnel from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, on a tract of Tennessee Valley Authority property (TVA Tract #XCHR-42R) bordering Chatuge Lake in Towns County, Georgia.

With the establishment of the great Rock Eagle 4-H Club near Eatonton, much interest and curiosity has developed concerning the Eagle effigy itself.

The present report describes a survey of cultural resources observed within the corridor of u. s. Forest Service road number 1042. Scheduled for construction during 1977, the road is located in Compartment 137, Oconee National Forest.

A cultural resources survey of this access road and timber sale area in Compartment 303 of the Brasstown Ranger District was conducted in January 1983. Most of the terrain is on greater than 25% slopes.

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed 38,750 square foot (0.9 acre) Hancock 46/12 kV Substation site and a 500 foot long by 100 foot wide transmission line corridor, Hancock County, Georgia.
