Archaeologists with the LAMAR Institute recently conducted a reconnaissance level survey of three proposed development tracts in Effingham County, Georgia.

On 15 December 2000, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted an archaeological resources survey for proposed improvements along Whittlesey Road in Columbus, Georgia. The project corridor, which extends from Whitesville Road east to Veteran's Parkway, is approximately 1.28 km (0.8 mi).

On April 27, 2001 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted a Phase I archeological survey of proposed improvements to the intersections of Canton Road, Cobb Parkway, Industrial Park Drive and the Georgia Northeastern Railroad in Cobb County, Georgia.

In late March 2001, Southeastern Archeological Services conducted an intensive archeological survey of the proposed widening of a 3.8 km (2.4 mi) length of Riverside Drive in Macon.

During April, 1998, New South Associates conducted Phase II test excavations at three potentially eligible sites in the Neighborhoods of Pumpkinvine Creek Tract, Paulding County, Georgia.

On February 8, 2001 four intersections in Gwinnett County, Georgia were archeologically surveyed by Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS).

New South Associates conducted a cultural resources survey of the proposed Georgia Power M&R site (Plant Wansley).

In February 2001, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an archaeological survey of the Garrett Landfill tract in Chatham County, Georgia. Investigations involved background research and the pedestrian traverse of transects across the entire 11.6 hectare tract.

This report documents the results of the Phase I archaeological survey investigations conducted within the proposed 34 acre Blair and Chewning, Inc., construction site in DeKalb County, Georgia. This research was conducted by Garrow & Associates, Inc.
