Report Abstracts

An archaeological survey of three areas within Smithgall Woods/Dukes Creek Conservation Area (Figure 1) planned for timber removal was conducted on February 13, 2001.

At the request of Parks and Historic Sites Division, GaDNR, an archaeological survey was conducted along the proposed route of a buried irrigation line and reservoir at Hard Labor Creek State Park.

The Archaeological Services Unit of the GDNR Historic Preservation Division conducted a Phase I survey of a proposed rest station! bath house within the tent camping area of Victoria Bryant State Park, located in Franklin Springs, Georgia.

The purpose of this project is to expand the Georgia DOT's NaviGAtor System with the construction of33 weather monitoring and reporting devices.

A cultural resource survey has been completed on five parcels of National Forest land in a proposed land exchange in Habersham and Stephens Counties, Georgia.

From March through April 1999, R.S. Webb and Associates conducted a cultural resource survey on the Oconee National Forest in Jasper County, Georgia. Approximately 1068 acres were surveyed prior to the West 11 timber sale activities.

New South Associates conducted aft archaeological survey of the area for the proposed reconfiguration of the intersection of Kings Highway and Central Church Road during the week of February 26, 2001. The entire survey area is located in Douglas County, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a cultural resources survey of the area for the proposed reconfiguration of the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and West Chapel Hill Road during the week of February 26, 2001. The entire survey area is located in Douglas County, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey for the proposed Lee Road/County Line Road intersection improvement project on July 3ra, 2000. No archaeological resources were discovered during the survey. No further work is recommended.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) wishes to replace the bridge on State Route (SR) 112 over Big Slough Creek in central Mitchell County, at the northeastern city limits of the town of Camilla (Figure 1).
