An assessment of the potential for cultural resources in Skidaway Island State Park was conducted on 9 December 1980. Research and fieldwork indicate a high potential for undisturbed resources in the undeveloped area of the park.

Research and fieldwork indicate that Amicalola State Park has a high potential for prehistoric and historic resources. Some are documented and others are only indicated.

A preliminary appraisal of cultural resources in Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park was made to provide information for the preparation of a policy statement for the park. Research indicates considerable potential for cultural resources, prehistoric and historic, in the park.

The assessment of cultural resources in Victoria Bryant State Park yielded data on three historic sites, all of which require additional research and field evaluation. No prehistoric resources were located because of the nature of the survey and the ground cover.

Four historic sites were recorded during the assessment of Floyd State Park. Insufficient data exists to evaluate their significance. Other areas of the park had ground cover too dense to permit adequate surface survey.

On 17-18 December 1980, the author accompanied four Department of Natural Resources wildlife and recreation specialists on a tour of four wildlife management areas proposed for purchase by the state. The object was to evaluate the established purchase priorities.

A cultural resource survey and evaluation was conducted at the proposed location of the Boy Scout Camp Gallent, West Point Lake, Troup County, Georgia. In the approximately 107 acres of this camp seven cultural resources were identified.

The site of the proposed Landford substation in Gwinnett County, Georgia, was surveyed to determine whether any sites of National Register significance exist within the survey area. No sites were found.

In January 2021, Trileaf Corporation (Trileaf) performed a cultural resource inventory survey for a proposed guyed telecommunications tower facility located in Wheeler County, Glenwood, Georgia (Latitude: 32° 10’ 35.99” N, Longitude: 82° 39’ 40.74” W).

An assessment of potential cultural resources in Providence Canyon State Park, resulted in the documentation of four archaeological sites. Two of them require no additional work but testing is strongly recommended for the other two.
