GDOT Archaeological Report Short Form for Negative Findings: Phase I Archaeological Survey of Luther Bailey Road Bridge over Double Branch Creek.

This project was conducted for the Chatham County Engineering Department which proposes to widen the Pipemakers Canal in order to improve drainage in northern Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. This project is the second phase of three planned phases of improvements.

The Kahn Mitigation Site (KMS) is located within the floodplain of the prior converted intermittent stream, presently known as the Pipemakers Canal and covers 193acres.

Tohopeka Archaeological Consulting was retained by Croy Engineering, LLC to undertake a Phase I archaeological survey in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto.
