Report Abstracts

This report presents the results of an archaeological reconnaissance of historic and prehistoric sites at selected proposed multiple purpose structures and floodwater retarding structures within the Sallacoa Creek Area Watershed, Bartow, Cherokee, Gordon and Pickens Counties, Georgia.

The proposed project would consist of the paving of 0.9 m (3 ft) of the existing shoulders of SR 206 in Ben Hill County. The proposed project would begin at t e intersection of US 319/SR 107 (MP 0.00) and would end at the intersection of CR 40 (MP 8.9).

The proposed project would consist of the paving of 1.2 m (4 ft) of the existing shoulders of SR 206 in Ben Hill County. Also included in the proposed project would be the leveling and resurfacing of the entire pavement width.

The proposed project would consist of the paving of approximately 0.6 m (2 ft left and right) of the existing shoulders on US 319/SR 107. The project would begin at the intersection of SR 206 northeast of Fitzgerald and end at the Ben Hill-Coffee County line.

Project TSAP-11 (208) is the proposed construction of a left turn lane and decel lane on U.S. 319/S.R. 11 at the intersection of County Road 124 south of Fitzgerald in Ben Hill County, Georgia.

The proposed project consists of leveling, resurfacing and shoulder paving, 0.6 m (2 ft) left and right, of S.R. 168 beginning at the intersection of S.R. 11 in the city of Nashville (m.p. 0.00) and extending eastward to the intersection of S.R. 135 (m.p. 10.27).

Project BRMLB-2210(1) would replace the structurally deficient bridge over Turkey Creek on CR 246 in Ben Hill County.

The proposed project would consist of the paving of approximately 0.6 m (2 ft left and right) of the existing shoulders on US 129/SR 11. The project would begin at the curb and gutter section in Ocilla and will end at the intersection of SR 107 in Ben Hill County.

The proposed project would widen C.R. 206/Industrial Drive in Fitzgerald. The project would begin at S.R. 125 southwest of Fitzgerald then would extend easterly along existing C.R. 206 to S.R. 11/U.S. 129/319 where the project would turn north-northeasterly and continue northerly along C.R.

The proposed project would consist of grading and paving of an existing dirt road. Project extends a total of 0.636 miles (1.0 km), in Fitzgerald. A 60 feet (18.2 m) right-of-way would be required.
