During February of 1986, Robert S. Webb conducted a reconnaissance level cultural resource survey of 60 acres at the Cartersville Airport in Bartow County, Georgia. A runway extension project has been proposed for this area, which lies within the Etowah Valley Historic District.

At the request of the Jekyll Island Authority, an archaeological survey of Jekyll Island was initiated on March 6th and concluded on March 15th, 1985. The survey was carried out by the author and the half-time assistance of one crew member, resulting in a total field time of 120 hours.

This survey in April 1983 covered a 95-acre National Forest tract on the Jasper-Jones county line in north-central Georgia, which was proposed for exchange to John Dumas. Long used as farmland, it was covered in pines with several hardwood inclusions.

Extensive excavations of the Mississippi period Beaverdam Creek mound and its surrounding "village" midden are summarized. The mound was constructed around A.D. 1200-1250 and is associated with the Beaverdam phase of the Savannah culture.
