Report Abstracts

The present report describes a cultural resource survey of proposed U.S. Forest Service road number 1040-D, scheduled for construction during 1977. The road is located east of road number 1040 in compartment 127 of the Oconee National Forest.

Archaeological excavations at the Carroll site (9Pm85) in 1989 were conducted as part of a 4-year research project by the Pennsylvania State University dealing with the changing settlement history of late prehistoric protohistoric peoples In the Oconee River basin.

The study area consisted of a 55 acre tract located in Habersham County, Georgia, within the city limits of Demorest (see figure 1). Descriptions of the tract will be presented in Chapters I and IV of this report.

The final report on archeological exploration at the Mandeville site, 9 Cla 1, may be regarded as terminal or final only in the sense that a report was made to The National Park Service, Department of Interior, comprising those results of field work, survey, laboratory analysis of materials, and

This report details the results of intensive cultural resource surveys of selected locations within the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station and Laurel Bay Family Housing Area north of Beaufort, South Carolina and Townsend Bombing Range near Townsend, Mcintosh County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2).

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) contracted with the Chattahoochee National Forest to survey 680 ha (1680 ac) for cultural resources in selected portions of 12 forest service compartments.

During June 2008, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Tanyard Creek Trail project corridor. The proposed tril would extend primarily through the Tanyard Creek Park owned and managed by the City of Atlanta.

Between April and June of 2002, TRC conducted a cultural resources survey of the proposed TVA Toccoa River-Youngcane 161-kV transmission line, in Fannin and Union counties, Georgia.
