New South Associates, Inc. surveyed the approximately six mile long, 300 foot wide, West Cobb Loop corridor with a two person crew between July 19 and 23, 1993. The area surveyed closely follows the originally proposed Alternate 1, which runs mostly along Noses Creek.

A cultural resources survey of a 40-50 foot wide 11,600 foot long sewer corridor, a 2,500 square foot pumping station and approximately 4 acres of proposed treatment plant was conducted. The area was characterized by developed urban location, stream bottoms and steep valley slopes.
