A cultural resources survey of the bridge crossing of Spence Mill Creek on SR 93 in Mitchell County, Georgia, was conducted by New-South Associates February 28, and March 1, 2001. A 1,000 foot approach with a 200 foot wide right-of-way was studied on either side of the bridge.

Currently 55 known archaeological sites are on property controlled by Robins Air Force Base (AFB). Previous to the current investigation, 11 of the 55 had been found to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), and 23 had been declared NRHP-ineligible.
