Report Abstracts

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed Doles Substation site, Worth County, Georgia. The field work was carried out by the author and one field technician on January 22, 1991, and continued by the author on January 23, 1991.

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed 250,000 square foot (5.7 acres) Elberton Substation site, Elbert County, Georgia. The field work was conducted by the Principal Investigator and one Senior Field Technician on August 2, 1991.

This report documents the results of a Phase I archaeological survey investigation conducted to locate and record any cultural resources within the proposed Azalea Park 115/25 kV substation site and access road path south of Valdosta, in Lowndes County, Georgia.

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed 13.81 acre West Carrollton 115/12 kV Substation site, Carroll County, Georgia. The field work was conducted by the author and one field technician on May 13,1991.

Cultural resources surveys were undertaken on National Forest land in Towns and Union Counties, Georgia, prior to timber sales, road construction, and wildlife openings.

Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) contracted with Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. to conduct an intensive cultural resources survey of a proposed 3.4 km (2.1 mi) transmission line and 1.5 ha (3.7 ac) substation in Wheeler County.

An intensive cultural resources survey was conducted on the proposed 2.4 ha (6 ac) Dasher substation in south central Lowndes County. Surface inspection and twelve shovel tests showed that no archeological sites exist on the tract.

Number Unused.

The results of a Phase I archaeological survey of a 9 acre tract of land in Thomas County are documented by this report. The research was conducted by Garrow & Associates, Inc., Atlanta, for Oglethorpe Power Corporation.

This report is a compilation of various cultural resources surveys and sites that have been recorded since 1983. These surveys have been conducted for timber sales, roads, and wildlife openings on the Chattooga Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest.
