Report Abstracts

During January and February of 1990, Webb Diversified Consulting conducted evaluative testing at a prehistoric quarry/outcrop scatter site and a historic house site (provisional site numbers LE-3-26 and 42, respectively) in DeKalb and Rockdale Counties, Georgia.

An intensive cultural resources survey was conducted of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed Woodstock -Hawkins Store Road transmission line and Hawkins Store Road substation. The transmission line corridor is approximately 7 km in length and the substation tract encompasses about 1.6 ha.

A cultural resources survey of a proposed reservoir in Rabun County was conducted in March 1987, by Elizabeth J. Misner, for the Clayton City Council. The project area includes 7.96 acres which will be impacted by the construction of a dam and associated reservoir.

Cultural Resources Surveys were conducted in March and August, 1988, on two parcels of National Forest land in the Brasstown Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest, Union County, Georgia. These parcels were proposed for land exchange with private land owners.

Oglethorpe Power Corporation is planning a simple cycle combustion turbine power facility in central Monroe County, Georgia. The original 780 ha project area was archeologically surveyed in summer 1988. In 1989, however, the project area was increased by 59 ha.
