Report Abstracts

This report details excavations at the Quartermaster site located on the Fort Benning Military Reservation in Georgia. A introduction to the project is given, followed by a discussion of the environmental setting of the site.

During January 2003, TRC completed a Phase I cultural resource survey of a proposed 12,200foot long sewer line in Monroe, Walton County, Georgia.

On June 14, 2002, the proposed improvements to the intersection of SR 26 and SR 87/US 23 (the Cochran Bypass) were archeologically surveyed. The area of potential effect (APE) generally consisted of 16 m of area from the edges of the respective roads for approximately 220 m in each direction.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) wishes to replace the bridge over Cane Creek on State Route (SR) 85 in Meriwether County, Georgia. The area of potential effect (APE) for the proposed bridge replacement project includes both existing and newly required rights-of-way.

The survey reported here was designed to locate archeological sites in the area of potential effect of a bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Southeastern Archaeological Research, Inc. conducted an intensive archaeological and historical survey of the proposed mineral sands mine in Glynn County, Georgia for TE Consolidated, LLC in February and March of 2002.

New South Associates conducted a phase I archaeological survey of the area for three proposed intersection improvements in the City of Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia. All three project areas are located along SR 9 at the crossings of Oxbo, Oak, and Chattahoochee/King Streets.

A Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 52.6-hectare (130-acre) Kennesaw Tract in Cobb County, Georgia was conducted to locate and identify cultural resources within the project area, and to assess the significance of each resource.

On May 8, 2001, R.S. Webb &Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the 30 acre (12.2 hectare [ha]) J. M. Huber Corporation Wrens mine expansion site in Jefferson County, Georgia.

The survey described here was designed to locate and evaluate archeological sites in the area of a bridge replacement project proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation along the border between Marion and Talbot Counties, Georgia.
