Report Abstracts

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) plans to replace the existing bridge on CR 321 /Taliaferro Springs Road over the Chattooga River. A prior Phase I survey for this project identified a site and recommended it potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

In July 2008, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted an archaeological survey at the site of the proposed County Road (CR) 133-Little Sugar Creek bridge replacement, Morgan County, Georgia. The total length of the project was 0.32 miles.

TRC Garrow Associates (TRC) was contracted by CH2M HILL to carry out a Phase I archaeological survey of two tracts in Washington County, Georgia proposed as locations for generating stations by Duke Energy.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., completed an archeological survey of a ca. 66-ha (162-ac) tract of land on the southwest edge of Moultrie on which the City of Moultrie wishes to expand its existing wastewater treatment facility.

In June 2005, TRC conducted Phase I cultural resource investigations for the proposed Georgia Distribution Center in Jackson County, Georgia. Archaeological and historic architecture surveys were included in the study.

TRC was contracted by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to conduct an archaeological survey for 21 proposed access roads associated with the proposed 15.5-mile 230/115-kV transmission line in Gordon and Whitfield counties, Georgia, which will proceed from the Center Point Substation south of D

In March and May 2002, R. S. Webb and Associates (RSWA) conducted Phase II archeological testing at two previously recorded sites, 9BA63 and 9BA65, to evaluate their current NRHP eligibility status, and to identify the horizontal/vertical limits of the archeological deposits.

Between February 8 and February 15, 1999, TRC Garrow Associates, Inc., conducted Phase II archaeological investigations at site 9BR891 in Bartow County, Georgia, under contract with Qwest Communications Corporation.

This report describes the results of an archaeological inspection of a strip of shoreline located just north of the existing Port Services facility on the Naval Submarine Base at Kings Bay, Georgia. This tract of land includes portions of one or more archaeological sites.

In January, 2001 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted a Phase I archeological survey of a proposed 3.1 ha (7.7 ac) substation tract in southwestern Bulloch County, Georgia.
