Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) was employed by the LAMAR Institute team on four portions of Battery Brooke, a Confederate artillery battery along the James River bottoms in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

A one hundred (100%) percent coverage, archaeological survey

The archaeological survey of approximately 1000 acres of land lying adjacent to the Little Tallapoosa River and Buck Creek in Carroll County, Georgia disclosed the presence of three small archaeological sites.

Given the lack of archaeological material in the project areas, no further concerns for archaeological investigations are warranted in the project areas.

The four project areas have been previously disturbed by late 19th to early 20th century farming activity, and also by construction and landscaping associated with the University. Subsoil is immediately evident in all four project areas at the ground surface.

The archaeological survey of six acres of land in Carrollton, Georgia did not disclose the presence of any archaeological sites. This area, known as the Knox Street Park site, has been extensively altered due to human occupation.
