Report Abstracts

From July 28 to July 30, 2008, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the approximately 65-acre (26.3-hectare) Gum Log Wetland Mitigation Bank in Jackson County, Georgia.

During the period of September 12 through October 10, 2003, R.S. Webb & Associates (RSWA) conducted a literature review and Phase I cultural resources survey for the proposed Expansion Area of the C & D Landfill in Cherokee County, Georgia.

During the month of April, 2000 New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of 110-acres of the construction zone (cemetery area) and 1.6 miles (2.5 km) of road network within the proposed Georgia National Cemetery in Cherokee County, Georgia.

In February 2005, Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) performed an intensive cultural resource assessment survey of the approximately 100-acre SEDA Properties-Hutchinson Island Tract in Chatham County, Georgia, on behalf of the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA).

In June 2005, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 110 acre (ac) Canton Marketplace development tract Cherokee County, Georgia. An additional 36 ac adjacent to the project tract were added and surveyed in January 2006.

A Phase I cultural resources survey was conducted for the approximately 115-acre Klewein development site in Cherokee County, Georgia. The study was conducted to locate and identify cultural resources within the project Area of Potential Effects and assess resource significance.

During the period of December 13 through 16, 2005, R.S. Webb & Associates (RSWA) conducted a literature review and Phase I cultural resources survey for the Proposed Cherokee County Airport Expansion Project, Cherokee County, Georgia.

In June and July 2005, Environmental Services, Inc.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park (CHCH) contacted the Southeast Archeological Center (SEAC) for assistance with a project to rehabilitate several roads within the park which are in poor condition and, in one case, which had been moved from its original alignment.

Carroll County Water Authority has authorized TRC Garrow Associates, Inc. (TRC) to carry out archaeological data recovery excavations at two sites (9CL269 and 9CL270) in Carroll County, Georgia, located within the proposed pool of the H.C. (Hill) Seaton Reservoir.
