The proposed project is part of a larger project for which field studies were approved in 2007. The 2007 project proposed to widen Salem Road from Brown Bridge Road to Flat Shoals Road from two lanes to four lanes with turn lanes at key intersections and 20 feet of raised medians and sidewalks.
