The Department of the Army at the F art Benning Military Reservation has requested cost and technical proposals for the Phase III level archaeological mitigation of Site 9ME751 in Muscogee County, Georgia.

The cultural resource evaluation of site 1RU135 was undertaken in August 1991 by Brockington and Associates, Inc. The site was originally discovered during construction monitoring by Mr. Dean Wood, Fort Benning Staff Archaeologist.

The project would include the installation of equipment and software needed to implement adaptive traffic signal management, known as an Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS), including vehicle count stations and vehicle detection devices.

The proposed project would consist of directional boring and installation of TY 3 strain poles for cameras within the existing shoulders of the roadway. Conduit, poles, and pull boxes would be placed within existing right-of-way (ROW) along the shoulder of the road.

The proposed project would widen and realign Shiloh Valley Drive/Greers Chapel Drive, and then extend the widened road across I-75 approximately 1,280 feet to a widened Roberts Court to form a continuous road approximately 0.3 mile south of Ernest Barrett Parkway in Cobb County, Georgia.

The proposed project would consist ·of directional boring and installation of TV 3 strain poles for cameras within the existing shoulders of the roadway. Conduit, poles, and pull boxes would be placed within existing right-of-way (ROW} in the shoulder of the road.

The proposed project would consist of various pedestrian upgrades along SR 28 (Greene Street) in downtown Augusta, from 5th Street to 12th Street, in Richmond County, Georgia (Figure 1). The project would include the following activities: Installation of new controller cabinets.

The proposed project would widen and realign SR 38/US 84 through Clinch and Ware Counties, in southeast Georgia.

The proposed project would take place on State Route (SR) 38/ US 84/ Oglethorpe Highway in Flemington, GA approximately 2 miles east of Hinesville.
