Report Abstracts

This document reports on a Phase I archaeological survey conducted for the revised project areas to the proposed ETNG/SONAT Interconnect Project (see attached alignment sheets and topographic maps).

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archeological survey of the proposed extension of the McCollum Field runway for Lowe Engineers between October 4th and October 7th, 1993. The survey examined approximately 160 acres around the existing McCollum Field boundaries.

A Phase I survey of approximately 19 miles of US 441 in Coffee County, Georgia was conducted during August of 1994.

An intensive cultural resources survey was carried out for the Georgia Transmission Corporation's proposed Camilla Substation in Mitchell County, Georgia. The total area surveyed included a roughly 1.2 hectare (3 acre) area of impact for the substation construction.

On June 7, 1996 two archeologists conducted a survey of a 2.3 ac (0.9 ha) tract on the near the Floyd Homes subdivision, about five miles northeast of Dublin, Georgia. The tract is located about 0.7 km east of U. S.

Archaeological survey for four bridge replacements located in Cobb County, Georgia, was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc. in February 1994.

Archeological testing of the Little Tarver Site, 9J0198, was undertaken to determine if the site is a significant resource, eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.

From January through April 1995, a cultural resources survey was conducted on approximately 1013 acres of the Oconee National Forest in Greene, Jasper, Jones, and Putnam Counties, Georgia.

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a cultural resource inventory of approximately two acres for a proposed culvert replacement project on the Consasauga Ranger District in Murray County.

Archaeological survey of the proposed Bully Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and Forced Main, Jeff Davis County, Georgia, was conducted in April 1990 by Brockington and Associates, Inc.
