In October, 1978 the United States Tennessee Valley Authority requested a preliminary archaeological survey of a proposed transmission line right of wat improvement between Murphy, North Carolina and Blairsville, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archeological survey of the proposed Wrightsboro Road widening and the Thomson West Bypass on April 18 through April 22, 1994. The Wrightsboro Road widening is approximately 4 miles long with a right-of-way of 80 to 90 feet.

This inventory report covers surveys conducted and sites recorded from 1984 through 1992.
