Report Abstracts

On June 7, 1999, TRC Garrow Associates carried out an archaeological survey in Columbus, Georgia, on a tract to be affected by a road construction project at the intersection of Wynnton Road, Peacock Avenue, and Brown Avenue.

In January of 2000 a 1.5 km (0.9 mi) stretch of Bellwood Road in Calhoun, Georgia was surveyed for archeological sites. Gordon County plans to improve this site of the road by symmetrically widening the southern half, and rerouting the northern half on new location.

As part of the cultural resource investigations for the Level (3) fiber-optic line, TRC Garrow Associates was contracted to carry out test excavations of 9LS239 (formerly designated Laurens County Site 2) to evaluate its potential eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

In March, April, and June of 1999, TRC Garrow Associates, Inc., performed archaeological testing of 20 sites at Fort Stewart in southeastern Georgia to evaluate their eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Archaeological survey of 18,352 acres of Fort Stewart , Georgia, was conducted by TRC Garrow & Associates, Inc., in February July 1997. Ten tracts were examined. The survey utilized full tract coverage through shovel tests at 30 m intervals.

This report describes an intensive Phase I archaeological survey of a 2,212-acre (895.5-ha.) portion of Fort Benning Military Reservation, in Compartments D-4, D-5, D-6, D-14, D-15, F-2, and J-7, Chattahoochee County, Georgia.

Between September 12 and 24, 1996, R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., performed a Phase I cultural resources survey and inventory of the proposed 8.15 km (5.06 mi) Southern Natural Gas Company 16 in O.D. Brunswick Loop Line Expansion project pipeline corridor.

Between September 4 and 13, 1996, R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., performed a Phase I cultural resources survey and inventory of the proposed 7.4 km (4.6 mi.) Southern Natural Gas Company 30 in O.D. South Main 2°d Loop Line Expansion pipeline corridor.
