Report Abstracts

In coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Georgia Historic Preservation Division, R.S. Webb & Associates developed an archeological survey plan to reliably, yet efficiently, identify potentially significant archeological resources in the study corridor.

This document synthesizes the results of the various cultural resource studies conducted at the site of the Rocky Mountain Hydroelectric Project in Floyd County, Georgia, between 1972 and 1993.

The present survey used the center of the aluminum approach ramp to the South End dock (six feet wide) as a horizontal datum point. A 100-m tape was stretched south along the top of the eroding bank, and the approximate centers of postholes and pits were recorded (Figure 2).

This project will consist of jacking and boring two 48 inch steel pipes under SR 36 at Jackson lake in order to replace a failing 36 inch pipe that has deteriorated. The project will entail constructing a haul road into the existing front slope to access the bore site at the toe of the 25 ft.

The proposed project consists of minor improvements to widen the I-95 northbound exit ramp in order to provide an additional left turn lane, the addition of a second eastbound left turn lane on Airways Avenue using the existing raised median across the bridge over I-95, the widening of the I-95 n

Site 9CW120 was identified during a 1981 and 1998 surveys of the Lake McIntosh Reservoir site in Fayette and Coweta Counties, Georgia (Webb et al. 1981; Keith and Webb 1998).

Greenhouse Consultants incorporated was retained by QORE Property Sciences to provide a cultural resources survey and archaeological testing of the proposed Rocky Plains SST tower site near Covington, Newton County, Georgia. The survey fieldwork was completed November 23, 2001, by Stephen A.

Burns & McDonnell was contracted by Norfolk Southern Railway Company to conduct cultural resource investigations of a proposed communications system project from Jacksonville, Florida to Forest Park, Georgia.

This project was undertaken by the Archeological Survey for the firm of Wiedeman and Singleton, Engineers, as an emergency request. Correspondence of January 7th, 22nd' and 26th is attached to this report as Appendix B.

The proposed project would consist of the leveling and resurfacing of SR 15 Alt. Also included in this project would be the leveling and resurfacing of the existing shoulders of SR 15 Alt.
