Report Abstracts

This report presents the results of Phase I cultural resources survey and inventory of the Georgia portions of the proposed Southern Natural Gas Company, Inc. East Tennessee Expansion Project. Fieldwork for this project was conducted during March and April of 1997 by R.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Clinton Road widening, Bibb County, Georgia on December 18, 1997. The survey of the approximately 1.3 mile corridor consisted of widening of existing alignment, in an urban setting.

In December of 1996, a literature review and an archeological resources survey was conducted for the Lakewood Avenue Bridge Replacement Site in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

This report documents a Phase 11 archaeological and architectural assessment of four sites in Paulding County, Georgia, by TRC Garrow Associates, Inc. (formerly known as Garrow & Associates, Inc.), under contract with Colony Homes of Woodstock, Georgia.

Historic Preservation Consulting recently completed a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Haw Creek Substation and Transmission Line Corridor in southeastern Forsyth County, Georgia. The work was conducted for Georgia Transmission Corporation.

On September 16-17, 1997 New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey for the widening and improvements to Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. The project corridor is located from Mount Pleasant Church Road to Houston Road, excluding the section of interchange.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Northside Drive widening, Bibb County, Georgia on March 19, 1998. The survey of the approximately 1.2 mile corridor consisted of widening of existing alignment, in a suburban neighborhood.

On December 1997, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted an archaeological survey of the proposed Breckenridge Boulevard extension corridor in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

An intensive cultural resources survey was carried out for the Georgia Transmission Corporation's proposed N. Nicholls Substation in Coffee County, Georgia. The total area surveyed included a roughly 2 hectare (5 acre) area of impact for the substation construction.

On January 28 and 29, 1998, New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey for the widening and improvements to McFarland Road, in Forsyth County, Georgia.
