This survey covered 105 acres on three tracts in Compartments 201 and 203 in adjacent parts of the two counties. It was conducted in late December 1982. One prehistoric and two recent historic sites were found on the National Forest.

The proposed project would construct a new location section for SR 32 beginning at the existing intersection of SR 32 and Mullins Drive in Alma, continuing east on new location and connecting with the existing SR 32 at West 16th Street. The required right-of-way is 80 feet.

Project FR-036-2(12) consists of the widening and reconstruction of SR 32 from SR 4/US 23 to just east of CR 323. BRF-036-2(3) is the replacement of the existing bridge over Hurricane Creek.

This project consists of the widening and reconstruction of State Route 4/US 23. The project, which begins at the southern terminus of the city limit of Alma, continues north through Alma and ends approximately 1200 feet north of the overflow bridge (for Hurricane Creek).

The proposed project would install a new traffic signal and upgrade the signing and marking at the intersection of State Route 32 and State Route 4 Alt in the town of Alma, Georgia. The existing right-of-way on SR 32 is 60 feet and the existing right-of-way of SR 4 Alt. is 80 feet.

The proposed project would widen U.S. l/S.R. 4 in Alma. The project would begin at the city limits south of Alma then would extend northerly along U.S. 1/S.R. 4 to the city limits north of Alma. Required additional rights-of-way varies from 6 feet to a maximum of 50 feet.

The proposed wetland mitigation site would include the restoration and enhancement of approximately 44.9 hectares (111 acres) located on a portion of the Echols tract in Pierce County.
