Report Abstracts

Project CSMSL-0008-00(690) proposes the construction of the Jimmy Deloach Connector, a new roadway alignment that would begin at Bourne Avenue/SR 307 and terminate at the existing Jimmy Deloach Parkway and State Route 21 (SR 21) intersection in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.

The proposed project was originally documented within a 2008 Survey Report for GDOT Project STP-0006-00(725) [PI #0006725].

We have reviewed the "Anticipated Construction Guidelines Within the Historically Significant Areas of Georgia Mountain Resort Golf Course" dated October 31, 1988 and prepared by Denis Griffiths and Associates, Inc.

The designated areas were inspected Saturday, March 9 , 1977. Initially, the areas immediately adjacent to the Ohoopee River (northeast of the existing oxidation pond) were checked. This area is now a boat launching and picnic area .

During the past several weeks I have been involved with assessments of the above projects under contract with Tribble & Richardson, Inc., P.o. Box 7005, Macon 31204. Two copies of each report and a current vita are enclosed.

The proposed bypass project contains two sections, STP00-00 18-01 (067), the northern portion of the proposed bypass, and GWW00-5053-00(002), the eastern portion of the proposed bypass. The northern portion of the bypass (P.I.

The proposed project would consist of the addition of two eastbound passing lanes, one westbound passing lane, and one center turn lane between Barnesville and Forsyth along US 41 /SR 18 in Lamar and Monroe Counties. These are divided into four sites.

The proposed project consists of intersection upgrades at various intersections along US 41/SR 3, SR 156, and SR 136 in Calhoun, Georgia. This project was previously surveyed by GDOT Archeologist Terri Lotti on 8/2/01, with concurrence received on 8/21101.

Project IM-75-3(189) would reconstruct the 1-75 bridges over SR 156/Redbud Road in Gordon County. This project has been subjected to two previous archaeological surveys, the first was done in December 1995 and the second in November 1999 both by Eric Anthony Duff (HP# HP991123-002).
